There are no problems only challenges or Will I get this blog to grow by 1600% in 3 months.
A few days I posted about a possible .com for my blog I didn’t realise the challenge it would bring me. In the comments you can read about a Dutch guy calling himself Stretsh who has bought mindthebeginner.com in order to help me. (The .net domain is still available though..) His comment stated that:
“I will give it to you for FREE if, and ONLY IF, you reach your said goals within 3 months, starting today. After those 3 months, you can buy it from me for the same price I charge my customers for a domain name. At any time you may decide you want to buy it right away.”
Well, now I’m in a pickle, however this is not a problem because in my mind problems don’t exist, there is never a problem only a challenge. A good friend of mine once told me that there is no hurdle to big, if you doubt yourself know that the hurdle would never have presented itself if you weren’t ready for it. Something similar is known from the Tao: “When the student is ready, the master appears”.
Bear in mind that I’m Dutch, and we Dutch have the international reputation of being frugal. So, I can buy this domain from Stretsh right away, or I can work very hard on this blog and have him hand me “my” domain for free.
With this all in mind I accept Stretsh’s challenge to get my blog to grow significantly within three months. After all, problogger has recently started his 31 days to a better blog only a week ago. The timing of it all is perfect, it apears I’m ready for it.
So now my challenge is to achieve any of the following by the 12th of July:
- OR I have more than 500 pageviews a day for 7 consecutive days.
- OR I have more than 300 subscribers to my RSS feed
Over next few days I’ll be drawing up a plan to get this done. In the mean time, I ask you all for al the help you can give me.

I think you can do it! You got me to look!
Thanks! Keep looking and spread the word.
Chris
There are many tools to use to help you as well.
Don’t forget Twitter – StumbleUpon – and good word of mouth.
Check out Darren’s Blog – ProBlogger.net they just started 1 weeks of 31 days about growing your blog.
Check it out – Very good reading and Good Homework to get your blog rolling along. Go a head and do last weeks assignments – They are not too hard to do a couple a day – As I could not do each days myself everyday – But was able to catchup and get them all done anyways.
Feel Free to drop me a line if you like

Thanks for the info Alan, I’m already following probloggers 31 days and I must say, it is effective. Traffic has doubled since day one of the program. Twitter is a big help.
I’m trying to get the hang of Digg, stumbleUpon (although I work with Google Chrome), Delicious en a ping from Technorati. Word of mouth is going through the forums I visit and by commenting on other blogs.
Hehe. I’m keeping my eye on you. You already have at least 1 RSS follower!
I just hate seeing good potential being ruined by a newbie mistake (talking about registering a kinda nice domain name, while it’s still available).
You may want to check out my 31DBBB Facebook group. More info in my blog.
By the way, I’m Surinamese, not Dutch. We have the Dutch language in common though.
As far as I can tell, registering a domain name takes credit card. Something I don’t own (yet…)
Well, only 299 more RSS followers to go.
I’ll head off to your blog a check things out to see if there are some followers to gain from it.
Exploring all possibilities to get things rolling. All help would be appreciated.
No it doesn’t get paypal account – you’ll need one anyway to make money online. You can connect it to your own bank a/c (depending on which country you live in).
