A guestpost by a friend of mine, however he's not in favor of having his name out in public, so I'll just call him mr. Fingerprint. No blog link, nor twitter, or facebook, sorry... He's the kind of guy who is very concerned about privacy and rights, preferring open source and making downloading legal. Never a dull chat with this guy I assure you. Let's talk Beatles here. Imagine. Imagine that some day, some people somewhere who vaguely have something to do with trade laws and international cooperation decide it would be a good idea to add something to travel documents. Something like, say, biometrics. Because well, that would lower the risks of identity theft, fraud and illegal immigration. Sounds like a good idea, doesn't it?

There I was, sitting on a chair in the cafeteria listening to a fellow student bragging about lack of sleep, a hangover and all other things related to "student life" (At least, according to that student..) Although on the surface it looked like I was listening and interested in fact was I really felt a bit sorry for him. He didn't manage to gather enough points last year to pass so he was back in year one... "I could have made it....

In English the quote below can with some imagination be interpreted as: “when you have two competing theories that make exactly the same predictions, the simpler one is usually the best”. Almost anyone who’s interested in math and/or logic has heard of Ockham’s razor. It’s a principle named after William Ockham (c. 1285–1349) , a [...]

There’s a buzz in the lifestyle design sector the last few days. Clay Collins is about to re-open Project Mojave to the public. For a modest fee you can take part and learn how to build a “freedom business” in 3.8 months. But what is it exactly. What I can tell you is that the [...]

As I’m tinkering more and more with the code behind this theme things are slowly getting where I want them to be. Okay, I’ve seemed to misplaced an icon in the above right, in that row with home, subscribe and twitter… the twitterlogo is missing in action. I’ve made it disapear, and if I have [...]

Chances are that you've read the four hour workweek, it's also very likely that you know who Seth Godin is and the name Leo Babauta might even ring a bell. Just a few resources (almost) all people into lifestyle design have heard about. But names these to just about anyone in daily life and they will have no idea what or who you are talking about. The whole idea of Location Independence (after all, a goal for most lifestyle designers) is completely unknown to them and they are certain you are out of touch with reality. Or at least have very romantic views on how the world works. The possibilities of Internet in the field of generating passive income streams is shrouded in mystery and above all, in disbelief. What are the actually chances of setting up such an income?

As you might notice this blogpage is still very much under construction. I’ve been blogging for 6 months on a wordpress.com blog and after reaching the 100 subscribers mark thought it time to get my own domain. That’s where you are are right now. But I don’t have everything under complete control yet. This is [...]

I broke the 100 this weekend and again today. I've been blogging since March 13th 2009. That's 219 days to get to this level. Now it's on to the next challenges. The first challenge being: getting this blog over to its own domain. After that I'm going to persue a few more challenges:

Last Friday I had a quick 6 tweet chat with Cath Duncan from Mineyourresources about the concepts of learning, change and discomfort. It put me on a train of thought that also brought to mind a quote I posted earlier from Leito Atreides (yes, Dune): Without change something sleeps inside us, and seldom awakens. The [...]
