Ever since reading Hugh MacLeod’s “Ignore Everybody” in 2009 and writing a review of it here on Mind the Beginner I’ve been a fan of Hugh’s work. So when Hugh tweeted that @MaureenCole would be offering some review copies of his new book, I jumped right on it. Even though I live on the other [...]

A few hours ago an e-mail entered my inbox. Sent by Problogger, a blogger you might now as Darren Rowse, one of the biggest bloggers out there and one of the happy few who makes a six figure income by blogging. A long time ago when I started this blog Darren was offering a cycle [...]

A guestpost by a friend of mine, however he's not in favor of having his name out in public, so I'll just call him mr. Fingerprint. No blog link, nor twitter, or facebook, sorry... He's the kind of guy who is very concerned about privacy and rights, preferring open source and making downloading legal. Never a dull chat with this guy I assure you. Let's talk Beatles here. Imagine. Imagine that some day, some people somewhere who vaguely have something to do with trade laws and international cooperation decide it would be a good idea to add something to travel documents. As I’m tinkering more and more with the code behind this theme things are slowly getting where I want them to be. Okay, I’ve seemed to misplaced an icon in the above right, in that row with home, subscribe and twitter… the twitterlogo is missing in action. I’ve made it disapear, and if I have [...]

As you might notice this blogpage is still very much under construction. I’ve been blogging for 6 months on a wordpress.com blog and after reaching the 100 subscribers mark thought it time to get my own domain. That’s where you are are right now. But I don’t have everything under complete control yet. This is [...]

I broke the 100 this weekend and again today. I've been blogging since March 13th 2009. That's 219 days to get to this level. Now it's on to the next challenges. The first challenge being: getting this blog over to its own domain. After that I'm going to persue a few more challenges:

It won’t have gone unnoticed by now that my posting frequency has dropped dramatically. There is a high correlation between this phenomenon and the hours I’m spending on my homework. Take this weekend for example, I’ve been working roughly eight hours spread over the last two days trying to solve SQL queries. Problogger warns against [...]
