Subscribe
The two ways you can subscribe to this blog are by Email and by RSS feed.
- If you want to subscribe using Email just click the mail icon
- If you want to subscribe to my RSS feed click the RSS feed button
If you don’t know which one to use yet, or if you don’t know what an RSS feed is please read the rest of this page. Both feeds are generated by Feedburner.
What is an RSS feed
An RSS feed is one of the easiest ways to keep up to date with what is going on on a site. Without getting to technical this is how it works:
- Get yourself an RSS reader. Many people use Google Reader but there are alternatives, my personal favorite being FeedDemon
- Click the small orange RSS button at the bottom of the the main page. To make it easier I’ve included the icon here as well:
An RSS reader is capable of following a great number of blogs and (almost) all blogs offer this type of subscription. Just look for the orange button.
So why would you want to subscribe
As said, a reader is capable of following a lot of blogs at the same time. So you have everything on one page. What’s even better is that the reader refreshes itself and lets you know when there are new blogposts. If you follow 20 blogs this will save you a lot of time of course, you can even sort your blogsubscriptions into different categories. If you’re like me and follow something like 50 blogs you’ll love this feature.
Following a feed saves you the trouble of rummaging through your bookmarks just to see if there is a new blogpost. If there is one it will show up in your reader, saving you all the trouble.
All in, RSS is a great way to keep up with a blog.
